A SUSPECTED drug dealer jumped out his bedroom window naked in an attempt to flee police, a court heard.
Karl Wright, 21, tried to escape his home in a bid to avoid police when they raided the building at Woodhorn Farm, Newbiggin, at 6am on August 8 last year.
But Wright was found by the officers and arrested as he lay sprawled naked in his garden, Newcastle Crown Court heard.
When police searched the property they found nearly 3,000 ecstasy tablets stashed in rucksacks, as well as cannabis ready to be sold on.
Wright, along with his father Darren Wright, 41, were both arrested and admitted various drugs charges when they appeared at Newcastle Crown Court.
Karl Wright pleaded guilty to possessing ecstasy and cannabis with intent to supply and producing cannabis.
His father Darren admitted a charge of being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
In interview Karl Wright said he had been given the drugs by a man he owed money to, and was tasked to separate the ecstasy into bags of 90 tablets and then add 3gm of ecstasy powder, said Barry Robson, prosecuting.
When his home was searched officers found 2,800 tablets of the Class A drug with a street value of £8,713.
Police also found cannabis worth nearly £800.
Jailing Karl Wright for 21 months, Mr Recorder James Goss QC said: "It's quite clear you were in possession of a substantial quantity of controlled drugs which were for onward sale to others.
"Those involved in the supply of controlled drugs at whatever level are always dealt with severely by the criminal courts.
"Without suppliers putting the drugs into circulation the drugs problem that exists in this country would not be on the same scale that it is."
Darren Wright, who pleaded guilty on the basis he was not aware of what his son was up to at the home, was fined £1,000.
